4x4 Wheels

The wheels on 4x4 vehicles come in a variety of types. Most of these are meant to be durable, and to hold rugged, all-terrain tires that can drive off-road easily. For those with part-time four-wheel drive systems that aren’t used very often, however, a common alloy street design might be preferred.

Because of the diversity of the 4x4 vehicle and it uses, there are a number of specialized wheels and corresponding tires available. These tires can be designed for racing, for sand, mud or for general outdoor track.

In determining which wheels are best for you, check to make sure the load capacity of your wheels and vehicle match up. If you have to buy any new lug hardware when you get new wheels, make sure the spare tire still fits.

Partially because of the wide variety of wheels, there is also a huge market for aftermarket 4x4 wheels containing all shapes and styles and wheels from which to choose. Your choices in this market will also come in a wide range, from standard alloy street designs to the stronger, more rugged-looking off road Beadlock wheels.
